Derbent residents report return of Azerbaijani builders to construction sites

The citizens of Azerbaijan, released from police after the raid to detain migrants, are back at the construction sites of Derbent, said the townspeople.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that 205 Azerbaijani citizens were detained during the raid of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) in Derbent and were kept for four days in the gym of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

On February 13, they were all set free from the police station in Derbent. According to the MIA of Dagestan, 33 of them had no patents for work and migration cards. The court ruled to extradite them and obliged to leave Russia voluntarily.

In a conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, residents of Derbent said that the detained Azerbaijani citizens have returned to construction sites. "Including those, who were ordered by the court to leave the country," one of townspeople said on condition of anonymity.

According to another resident of Derbent, "none of the detained Azerbaijanis was deported in the end."
