Russia wins medal standing at World Military Games in Sochi

Today, the Third World Military Games in Sochi have ended in an unconditional victory of the Russian national team in an unofficial medal standing. Russian athletes have won 42 medals, including 22 gold ones.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that first medals were contested at the World Military Games in Sochi on February 24. Today, the final competitions and the closing ceremony of the games have taken place.

The World Military Games are an analogue of the Olympic Games, but organized by the CISM (in French – the Conseil International du Sport Militaire, or the International Military Sports Council) – one of the largest interdisciplinary sports organizations in the world that unites 134 countries. A total of 26 teams took part in the Games in Sochi.

The Russian team was in the lead in the unofficial medal standing from the first day of the competitions and ended with 22 gold, 9 silver and 11 bronze medals.
