Nalchik hunger-striker complains about health deterioration

Zhanna Mazikhova, the director general of the Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) "Zvezda Elbrusa", who is holding a hunger strike jointly with Arthur Baidaev, the founder of the CJSC, has complained about her low blood tension and heart pain.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ms Mazikhova went on the hunger strike in the morning on June 26; Mr Arthur Baidaev joined her; and on June 30, the district prosecutor invited them for a talk.

The hunger-strikers assert that the property of the CJSC "Zvezda Elbrusa" CJSC and the adjacent section of the National Park, leased for 49 years, were captured by raiders. They demand to repeal the verdict of the Nalchik court, which found Baidaev guilty of illegally obtaining a credit of 7 million roubles.

Today, Zhanna Mazikhova and Arthur Baidaev were visited by Zaurbek Shebzukhov, the Public Prosecutor of the Elbrus District.

"The Prosecutor has suggested us to stop the hunger strike and promised to clear out our situation within a month and give an answer to our appeal," said Mazikhova, adding that the Prosecutor "took copies of some documents." "I demanded to release the federal land plot and to return the 'Zvezda Elbrusa' Hotel. The Prosecutor said that he should clear out the problem," Ms Mazikhova has concluded, having stated that "the hunger strike goes on."

Zhanna Mazikhova has stressed that on July 4 she "wrote another letter to the head of the republic and forwarded the appeal to the country's president." She also noted that she "feels very bad," because of "low blood tension and heart pain."
