Seven miners decide to join hunger strike in Gukovo

Today, 96 miners of the "Kingcoal" Company and miners from the "Vostochnaya" mine have come out to a picket in front of the "Kingcoal" Company's office, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since the spring of 2016, "Kingcoal" miners have been regularly protesting in Gukovo and Rostov-on-Don, demanding repayment of their salary debts and issuance of ration coal. On July 4, the miners went on protest hunger strike.

According to participants of a protest action, they hold pickets every day, despite the hot weather.

After the picket, seven workers of the "Vostochnaya" mine filed statements to join the hunger strike. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Elya Krasilnikova, a member of an initiative group organized by miners from the "Vostochnaya" mine.

"Starting from July 24, seven of our miners join the hunger strike. Many of those who have been on the hunger strike since the first days feel bad and we will replace them," the activist has said.
