Court dismisses "Mashr" complaint about its registration as foreign agent
The Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow has dismissed the claim field by the Ingush human rights organization "Mashr" against the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ). The rights defenders have failed to challenge the MoJ's decision made in 2015 to include the NGO to the register of foreign agents.
On April 20, 2017, the Russian MoJ notified Magomed Mutsolgov about the exclusion of the "Mashr" from the list of foreign agents.
Earlier, Mutsolgov has written in his blog on the "Caucasian Knot" that the court committed a lot of violations of procedural norms and the plaintiff's rights, without actually informing the rights defenders.
The decision of the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow was challenged at the Moscow City Court. The Court saw in it a violation of the norms of the law, cancelled it, and sent the case for a new consideration.
On August 7, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow again considered the claims filed by the "Mashr" against the Russian MoJ about the illegal inclusion of the NGO into the register of foreign agents in 2015.
"Our complaint has been dismissed. However, we will continue to challenge that decision, since we believe that the 'Mashr' was illegally included in the register of foreign agents. Firstly, we got no financing from abroad. And secondly, we are engaged in providing legal assistance, that is, not political, but charitable activities," noted Mutsolgov.
