The condition of the policeman after surgery remains grave, a local law enforcement source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Earlier, the explosion of a mine in the forest near Vedeno, which killed the alleged militant and wounded two policemen, was reported by sources of the portal "Kavkaz.Realii".

The policemen, together with the detainee, were screening the territory, trying to find a militants’ hideout, the source has explained, adding that "presumably, the militant stepped on a mine and was killed on the spot."

He has noted that when screening mountain-woodland and dangerous areas, as a rule, the territory should be first inspected by sappers.
