Vladimir Vasiliev finds a solution to problem around Samur Forest

A decision has been found to preserve the Samur Forest and provide people with water. This was announced on November 15 by Vladimir Vasiliev, the acting leader of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in July, Arif Kerimov, the head of the Lezgian National-Cultural Autonomy (LNCA), drew the Russian President's attention to the threat to the Samur Forest in Dagestan, brought by the construction of a water pipeline on its territory. Vladimir Putin instructed his subordinates to submit before December 1, 2017, the proposals for the preservation of the Samur Forest.

When delivering his speech on November 15 at the international theoretical and practical theological conference in Makhachkala, Vladimir Vasiliev raised the problem of the Samur Forest.

"It is very good that we are concerned about the environment. Meanwhile, we should live, and we need water. We have found a solution. We will definitely bring it to everyone. We will allow each party to voice the opinion, and we will work out a monitoring mechanism. We will make sure that no one then doubts the correctness of the decision. We will do that for sure, and we will succeed that everyone will have good water supply to the house and the Samur Forest will be in perfect condition as it is," stated Vladimir Vasiliev as quoted by the "AiF Dagestan".
