This evening, Baku policemen have detained Avaz Zeinalov, the editor-in-chief of the "Khural" newspaper. On his Facebook page, the journalist was broadcasting the blocking of the Binagadi Highway, his wife, Malakhat Gisuri, also a journalist, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"For a long time already, Avaz has been broadcasting live how Binagadi District Police are blocking the highway, often for no reason. Because of this, thousands of people have to return home from work on foot, by walking for kilometres on the road. Tonight, the highway was again blocked without warning. When Avaz tried to start the broadcast, a policeman, without introducing himself, insulted him," Ms Gisuri said.

According to her story, Zeinalov was detained and taken to the 4th station of the Binagadi District Police Department.

There, an administrative case was opened against Zeinalov on the article on non-compliance with the lawful policemen's demands, said Zibeida Sadygova, an advocate.
