In Grozny, law enforcers inspect apartments, local residents report

In the capital of Chechnya, law enforcers have checked IDs of local residents and drivers, Grozny residents reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from December 24, in Chechnya, security measures have been enhanced in connection with the operational information got by the law enforcement bodies about terror acts on the New Year holidays prepared by the "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia.

On December 26, law enforcers also checked IDs of local residents, reported Markha, a resident of Grozny. "They visited local apartments, checked IDs of local men and asked if there were any strangers at their places," the woman said.

The law enforcement bodies have also significantly enhanced security measures at night, reported Ismail, a resident of Grozny.

According to the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya, verification of the passport regime on the eve of the New Year holidays is one of the measures to ensure people's safety.
