Armenia's and NKR's MoDs treat situation in conflict zone as calm
Following the Azerbaijan's statement about 135 bombardments, the Ministries of Defence (MoDs) of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) characterized the situation on the contact line and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on the first day of 2018 as calm.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the Azerbaijan MoD has accused the Armenian party of shelling nine villages. According to the MoD, the ceasefire was violated for 135 times over the past 24 hours.
Today, "there were very few shots from the Azerbaijani side," the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is normal, the "News.am" reports quoting Artsrun Ovannisyan, the press secretary of the Armenian MoD.
In his turn, Senor Asratyan, the spokesman of the NKR's MoD, also said that there were no incidents on the Azerbaijani-NKR troops contact line today. He has treated the situation as calm, the "News.am" has noted.
