The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 8, Nikol Pashinyan, the leader of the oppositional parliamentary "Elk" bloc, was elected Armenian Premier. On May 12, President Armen Sargsyan signed decrees on the appointment of 13 ministers and one vice-premier, nominated by Pashinyan. Thus, the formation of the new Armenian government is over.

Political analysts have suggested civil society figures and some former officials may enter the new government; they also pointed out that Pashinyan's government would face no problems.
