Events in Dagestan
Three officers of the Dagestani police were killed in the republic's Kayakent district on the night of Tuesday, the press service of the republican Internal Affairs Ministry told Caucasian Knot.
The killing occurred on the federal motorway Kavkaz ("Caucasus"), not far from Pervomaiskoye at the turn to Inchkhe at 11:35 pm on 5 September.
ITAR-TASS says the incident took place at about 0:50 am on 6 September though.
The police officers pulled over near a car parked by the roadside, according to the Kayakent District Division of Internal Affairs. They had not even got out when they were shot with automatic weapons. As a result, Chief Lieutenant Amirkhan Davmatov, Lieutenant Rustam Mamedov, and Sergeant Alikadi Zagirov died on the spot, ITAR-TASS says.
