Two detained border Georgian guards returned by Russia

Two officers of the Georgian Border Police, detained at the Dagestan section of the Russian border, have been released, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported.

The incident occurred on June 27. According to the MIA, on June 29, an agreement was reached to return them to Georgia.

"On June 27, two border guards from the Lagodekhi Department of the Border Police came to the Dagestani section of the Georgian-Russian border to open a temporary summer post. The communication with then got interrupted; and then, a search for them began. The Georgian MIA established that the border guards were in the territory of Russia," the "InterPressNews" quotes the Georgian MIA.

The return of border guards was "the result of MIA's active work and agreement of the parties," the "News-Georgia" reports.
