Ceasefire breach

One serviceman of the Azerbaijani army was killed as a result of a ceasefire violation by the armed forces of Armenia, the press service of the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry reports.

According to the source, the Armenian armed forces fired submachine and machine guns on the Azerbaijani dispositions in Borsunlu, Terter district, at about 12.00 am on 7 September. As a result, Polad Aliyev, an officer of the National Army of Azerbaijan, sustained a gunshot wound. He died in a military hospital on the same day.

Aliyev was called up for military service in 2004 by the military commandant's office of the Agdzhabedy district. Today, the killed man's body has been delivered to his family for burial.
