After criticism in social networks, Makhachkala authorities apologize for garbage heaps

The administration of Makhachkala has urged townspeople and city guests to perceive the city problems with garbage disposal with understanding and not to go out to protest actions. Social network users have announced their intention to bring garbage to the administration building.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that April 2, the prosecutor's office stated that garbage had not been removed from some Makhachkala streets for several days; and dumps accumulated near garbage containers. The office demanded that the managing company "Novy Gorod" (New City) to restore the order.

The Makhachkala Mayoralty has admitted that the city has problems with garbage removal. Its website has announced that "about 1000 containers have already been purchased; and it is planned to purchase more, which will help in solving the problem of overfull garbage tanks."

The Mayoralty has also urged the townspeople to load their garbage bags into containers "no matter how far they are" and "cover their debts for garbage disposal."

The blogger vodimag1 has posted a series of clips on the Instagram about garbage in Makhachkala, noting that the city has a very acute problem of garbage bins; he brought his garbage bag to the administration building. The video clip was posted on July 6 in the group mkala_ on the Instagram; and other users supported the blogger.
