More than 500 missile experts alarmed in North Ossetia

Subdivisions of the missile unit deployed in North Ossetia have started combat training involving the Iskander-M systems, the Southern Military District reports today.

According to the Southern Military District, more than 500 soldiers and officers and about 40 units of weapons and military vehicles are involved in the military exercises.

"The subdivisions from the missile unit of the combined-arms army for the Southern Military District, deployed in North Ossetia, were alarmed within the combat training activities involving the combined-arms units of the Southern Military District," reported the spokesman for the Southern Military District as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".

During the military exercises, soldiers and officers marched to the area of combat training, where they would perform the tasks to repel attacks of a conventional enemy in an unknown area, the "Interfax" reports with reference to Vadim Astafiev, the chief of the press service for the Southern Military District.
