Azerbaijan reports shelling of its two villages in the conflict zone

Within the last 24 hours, positions of Azerbaijani militaries in the Karabakh conflict zone were shelled for 79 times, including from machine guns, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that yesterday, on August 12, Azerbaijan announced 86 bombardments of its positions; the day before, August 11, 82 shelling episodes were reported. In its turn, the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh counted 200 acts of shelling by Azerbaijan during the week from August 5 to August 11.

During the last 24 hours, the ceasefire regime on the contact line was violated for 79 times, the press service of the Azerbaijani MoD has reported today.

According to the MoD, the positions of the Azerbaijani Army deployed in the villages of Kemerli and Mundjuglu were shelled, including from large-calibre machine guns.

The shelling was conducted from positions located both in Armenia and "near the occupied villages," says the report posted on the MoD's website.

The MoDs of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have not yet commented on this statement on their websites.
