Nagorno-Karabakh reports soldier's suicide

A soldier of the Armed Forces of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) was found dead in a military unit, the republic's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to the Caspian Defence Studies Institute (CDSI), in the first half of 2018, four people committed suicide in the military units in Armenia and the NKR.

The body of Vanik Gevorgyan, born in 1996, was found on September 2 in a military unit in the north of the republic.

An investigation is underway to find out the details of the soldier's death.

Let us note that, according to the CDSI, from January to June 2018 in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, the number of non-combat casualties reached 19 people. In particular, seven soldiers died as a result of accidents; two were killed by fellow soldiers, two died from illnesses, and one died because of violation of safety regulations.
