Relatives of a man detained in Grozny do not know about his fate for 11 days

Family members unsuccessfully try to find out the whereabouts of Usman Lorsanov, a resident of Grozny, whom law enforcers had taken away from their house in late March. Relatives fear for the fate of the young man, since his brother was killed after detention in 2017.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 25, 2017, Islam Lorsanov, a resident of Grozny, was killed after being detained by law enforcers. According to a source, the detainee opened fire during an interrogation in one of the divisions and wounded four policemen, while the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) denied the information about the incident. The body of Islam Lorsanov was not given out to his relatives.

At night on March 27, law enforcers took Usman, a younger brother of Islam Lorsanov, from his parents' apartment in the Grozny settlement of Mayakovsky, but relatives did not make the arrest public until April 5. They hoped that the 19-year-old boy would be released after the trial, and then they tried to find him independently, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reported with reference to the close relatives of the young man.

According to the relatives, Usman Lorsanov could be detained for his telephone conversations with friends about the fate of his elder brother.

"We do not know where he is now. It is not possible to figure that out," one of the Usman Lorsanov's relatives told the" Caucasian Knot "correspondent.
