Head of administration, his son shot dead in Avtury
The Avtury, Chechnya, head of administration and his 26-year-old son were killed by unidentified persons on Tuesday evening, a source in the headquarters of the United Group of Troops in the North Caucasus said on Wednesday, Interfax reports.
"Unknown persons in camouflage uniforms and masks entered the house of the Avtury head of administration, Ibrahim Umpashayev, at about 7.00 p.m. on Tuesday and shot him dead with automatic weapons. Noticing his son Isa in the yard, they opened fire on him too. Isa Umpashayev, b. 1979, sustained fatal wounds and died in hospital," the source said.
The attackers also shot at the police officers arriving at the scene, wounding two of them, according to the interlocutor. Nothing is reported about someone detained, Finmarket says.
