Entrance to Dattykh village blocked, residents of Ingushetia report (+video)

The entrance to the village of Dattykh, which the authorities of Ingushetia have decided to restore, is blocked by law enforcers, report residents of the republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 26, Ramzan Kadyrov and Yunus-Bek Evkurov signed the agreement on securing the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia. In Ingushetia, the signing of the above agreement and the corresponding republican law led to mass protests. On October 31, Ramzan Kadyrov ordered to improve and landscape the territories on the border with Ingushetia, and in early November, the Ingush authorities announced the restoration of the abandoned village of Dattykh near the border with Chechnya.

The village of Dattykh, which Ingush authorities decided to rebuild, was abandoned by residents after shelling in 2015. People come here to look after their cattle and care about cemeteries. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has visited the ravaged village, which attracted attention amid the confrontation around the new border with Chechnya. After the head of the Ingush government had visited Dattykh, there were no barriers on the entrance to the village, the checkpoint at the entrance was empty, and people could safely move around the village. However, on November 20, people who wanted to come to the village were not allowed to enter it, reported residents of the neighbouring villages interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

At the checkpoint, law enforcers behave correctly and politely, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by a respondent who preferred to remain anonymous. "I don't know why they do not let us through, while earlier, it was possible to drive through. They set a checkpoint and said there were some events in the village," the man said.
