Bomb wounds 10-year-old in Chechnya
A ten-year-old boy was seriously wounded in the capital of Chechnya, Grozny, on Wednesday. Late at night, in Ionisiani St, the boy was playing on the balcony with a toy he had found the day before, the Leninskii District Division of Internal Affairs said. An explosion occurred suddenly wounding the child seriously as a result.
A small-capacity explosive device had been disguised in the toy, specialists found out.
The boy, Abazov, sustained numerous shrapnel lacerations in his arms, stomach, and other parts of his body. He was delivered to the Grozny hospital where doctors are performing on him operations to remove foreign objects and put in stitches, Interfax reports.
"The boy's condition is characterised as grave," the Internal Affairs Division emphasised. Measures are being taken to identify the persons who might have planted the toy in the street.
According to police information, numerous cases of children sustaining injuries as a result of blasts of explosive devices made in the form of pocket torches and toys have been registered in Chechnya, NEWSru.com says.
