New extrajudicial executions in Chechnya
The bodies of two unidentified men were found on the outskirts of Petropavlovskaia, Grozny district, on 26 October, a local resident reported. They had numerous shrapnel wounds, according to him.
"Two dead men were found on the outskirts of Petropavlovskaia yesterday," said Khasan, 33, resident in the village. "They are not from Petropavlovskaia. There were numerous shrapnel wounds on their bodies. People think that the men had fallen victim to extrajudicial executions and were blown up with explosives."
"It is so far too early to say what caused death of the two men whose bodies were found on the outskirts of Petropavlovskaia yesterday," a source with Chechnya's Internal Affairs Ministry said. "An investigation unit is working there."
