Ten unidentified persons in camouflage uniforms abducted a local resident in Ingushetia's Sunzha district, a source with republican law enforcement agencies said.
A Troitskoye resident applied to the unit on duty of the Sunzha District Division of Internal Affairs yesterday. She said unidentified persons had forced her husband out of the house in Sovetskaia St and put him in their Zhiguli car, after which they brought him away, according to RIA Novosti.
An officer of the City Division of Internal Affairs was killed in Nazran. "The murder occurred at about 5:20 p.m. An unidentified attacker shot an automatic weapon at officer Kostoyev and ran away from the scene. The officer died of sustained wounds on the spot," a source with Ingushetia's law enforcement agencies said. He added that Mr Kostoyev had survived an attempt on his life two months before. The police officer had not suffered that time, according to RIA Novosti.
A group of gunmen committed an armed attack on houses of officers of republican law enforcement agencies in Yandare, Nazran district, on 19 October. The attackers are estimated to have been 30 in number. They were armed with submachine and machine guns and drove cars. The gunmen fired at a total of six homesteads of officers of the republican Department for the Combating of Organised Crime, Department of the Federal Security Service, and riot police. Three of the houses burnt down. Timur Ganizhev, brother of the Ingush riot police commander, sustained several wounds as a result of shooting.
