NATO ship arrives for joint exercises with Georgian military personnel
The US Navy USS Ross DDG-71 destroyer has arrived in Batumi. The US ship will take part in joint exercises with two Georgian patrol boats, and then it will leave the territorial waters of Georgia on April 25.
On April 23, in the capital of Adjara, an official reception ceremony was held at the US Navy USS Ross DDG-71, which would take part in joint exercises with two Georgian patrol boats, the "Interfax-AVN" reports with reference to the press service for the Coast Guard of the Border Police of Georgia.
"The visit serves to highlight the continued cooperation between the US and Georgia by promoting peace and stability in the region. It once again reaffirms the US's strong support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia," said Ross Wilson, Acting US Ambassador to Georgia.
Starting from April 14, the "Vasily Bykov" patrol ship and the "Ivan Khurs" reconnaissance ship from the Black Sea Fleet of Russia escort the US Navy USS Ross destroyer, which entered the Black Sea, and control its actions, the RBC reports with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD).
