Kadyrov: I had no reasons to kill Politkovskaya
Ramzan Kadyrov, Prime Minister of Chechnya, told that he had no motives to persecute journalist Anna Politkovskaya. "Politkovskaya's materials were no obstacle for me, they did not affect my work and my activities, on the contrary, they helped me, and I had no reasons to prosecute her," the head of the Chechen government told journalists today in Grozny.
"She was a woman, and I would never resort to showdown with women," Kadyrov added. He mentioned that Politkovskaya's materials had no influence on politics in Russia or Chechnya, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
We remind you that Anna Politkovskaya, a "Novaya Gazeta" journalist, who was shot dead on Saturday, October 7, in the doorway of the apartment block where she lived in the Lesnaya Street, was famous for her materials on Chechnya and North Caucasus. The last interview in her live, given almost an hour before the murder to the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot," was also on the Chechen topic, namely, the carrier perspective of Ramzan Kadyrov, Prime Minister of Chechnya, and extortion of money from Republic's citizens, committed under his guidance.
