A powerful explosion thundered close to the Chechen Culture Ministry
A powerful explosion thundered in the Leninskiy District of Grozny in the cross of the Bogdana Khmelnitskogo and Krasnoznamennaya Streets. No victims and injured were registered. According to the Interior Ministry of Chechnya, a fougasse (land mine) planted into a garage of a deserted house exploded right opposite the building of the Culture Ministry of the Chechen Republic.
Three automobiles belonging to the Ministry were severely damaged. The blast wave knocked out the windows and damaged the front face of the Ministry building.
The investigation is at a loss to say whether the explosion was an act of terror aimed at a particular person or not, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
