During the period from January 1 to March 31, 2019, it became known about eight victims of the armed confrontation in the territory of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR); all of them were killed. These are the data of the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

According to the authorities, seven casualties had been involved in militants' activities; and one law enforcer was also killed. No civilian casualties were reported.

In January 2019, four alleged members of the armed underground were killed; one policeman was also seriously wounded and later died. Three more persons, declared to be militants by the authorities, were killed in February. No victims were reported in March.

The above statistics does not present accurately, with 100% precision, the real number of victims. Not all the data gets into news bulletins. It is not always possible to check the truthfulness of the statements of law enforcement bodies; while new data on the events that happened during the reporting period sometimes become known after the publication of the statistics by the "Caucasian Knot".

Let us note here that in Quarter 4 of 2018, in the KBR, six victims of the conflict became known.
