Women picket the Government building in the capital of Chechnya

Today, a group of women are picketing the entrance to the territory of the Chechen Government building in Grozny. The participants claim that their relatives and friends have suffered as a result of unlawful investigation actions of the law enforcement agencies.

They appeal to the leadership of the Chechen Republic with a request to create a special commission and conduct an investigation of the facts.

Militia estimates that 20 to 30 women take part in the picket. They hold posters in their hands: "No to arbitrariness in the ОRB-2," "Torture is a criminal method of fighting criminality," "No to kidnapping and torture ."

They do not hamper transport entry to and exit from the territory of the complex of government buildings.

The Grozny city administration states that the picket has not been sanctioned by the city authorities, reports Interfax.

For reference, deputies of the Chechen parliament earlier addressed the Russian MIA management with a letter in which they recommend closure of the temporary detention facility (TDF) at the operational search bureau (ОRB-2).

The operational search bureau No 2 is located in the Staropromyslovsk district of Grozny. The officers of the ORB-2 are subordinated to federal authorities and are outside the control of the local authorities. Earlier Ramzan Kadyrov, chairman of the Chechen government, spoke about the necessity to remove the ORB-2 from the territory of the Chechen Republic, accusing its officers of kidnapping and torture of detainees.
