Prosecution: investigation of murders in Kondopoga to be over by mid-November
The Kondopoga prosecutor's office promises to finish, by the middle of November, the investigation of the murder of local citizens that had entailed massive ethnic-motivated disorders. Philip Zakharov, deputy prosecutor of Karelia, informed that this week, the concluding investigative actions will be conducted, and the final charges will be presented to the suspects; then, the latter will familiarize them with the case. The process may take a lot, since interpreters may be needed as the indictees are Chechens.
Speaking at the sitting, Sergey Katanandov, head of Karelia, expressed his hope that the court would consider this case before the criminal cases of the participants of anti-Caucasian pogroms. "Of course, when boys who were running among the streets were filmed, it's much easier to collect proofs and evidences, however, the killers should be punished first," head of Karelia stated, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
