Chechnya is visited by a delegation of the European Committee Against Tortures
In the first half of May 2, the president of Chechnya received in Grozny Mauro Palma, head of the delegation of the European Committee Against Tortures.
This information was given by a source in the machinery of the president and government of the Republic. According to him, at the meeting, Mauro Palma and Alu Alkhanov discussed the issues, related with observance of human rights and freedoms in the territory of Chechnya.
"President of the Chechen Republic and the head of the European Committee Against Tortures discussed a number of problems today. One of the topics was yesterday's accident in the village of Tsentoroj of the Kurchaloevskiy District," the state servant said. "Alu Alkhanov assured Mr. Palma that hereafter no obstacles to the work of the delegation of the Committee in the territory of the Republic will be made."
It became known that on May 1, the delegation of the European Committee Against Tortures tried to get to the village of Tsentoroj (the family village of the Kadyrovs located in the south-east of the Republic). However the security members on duty at the entrance to the settlement would not let the delegation into the village.
