Azerbaijan registers 23 shelling attacks in conflict zone

The positions of the Azerbaijani troops on the contact line of troops were shelled 23 times within 24 hours, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan reports.

"Units of the Armed Forces of Armenia 23 times violated the ceasefire in various directions of the front within 24 hours," the Azerbaijani MoD reports on its official website.

It is noted that the fire came both from the side of Armenia and from the territories under the control of the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities.

After the combat actions in the Karabakh conflict zone in April 2016, the parties to the conflict declared a ceasefire, but the confrontation was not stopped. During two years, shelling attacks in the conflict zone occurred every day.

Following the results of 2019, Nagorno-Karabakh announced the lowest number of shelling attacks on its positions in 10 years.
