Today, at a press conference in Moscow, human rights activists showed video records evidencing a shooting by the authorities of a peaceful demonstration in the Dokuzparinskiy District of Dagestan on April 25. The video pictured the first several minutes of the rally dispersal. It is seen from the film that it was a peaceful meeting, when suddenly special police forces ("spetsnaz") appeared from three directions, and gunshots were heard. The mob burst into panic, and the filming was interrupted. Witnesses told the press conference that spetsnaz fighters were chasing and beating the escaping people.
