Azerbaijani police dispersed a students' picket in Baku
The students of the University "Independent Azerbaijan" held a picket in front of the building of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan. About 200 students and some of their parents took part in the action. Vugar Suleimanov, chairman of the Committee for Students' Rights, reported that the police have dispersed the action. Over 100 policemen from the Narimanov District Police Department were deployed against the students. In the course of dispersal, three students were beaten and taken to hospital, and one student was detained, Suleimanov reported, the Day.Az reports.
We remind you that the problems of the students of the University "Independent Azerbaijan" started in May 2006, when it was declared that the University was deprived of license.
