Azerbaijan fixes 22 shelling attacks on the frontline
The positions of the Azerbaijani army were shelled on the border with Armenia and in the Karabakh conflict zone, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 21, Azerbaijan reported 29 shelling attacks on its positions.
"During the past 24 hours, units of the Armenian Armed Forces violated the ceasefire in various sections of the frontline for 23 times," the Azerbaijani MoD has stated on its website today.
The shelling was delivered both from the side of Armenia and from the territories controlled by the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), says MoD's the statement.
As of 10:35 a.m. Moscow time on February 22, the MoDs of Armenia and NKR did not respond to the above statement on their websites.
After the escalation of the Karabakh conflict in April 2016, the parties to the conflict agreed on a ceasefire, but the confrontation did not stop. In 2019, Azerbaijan registered a period of almost complete ceasefire on the front, which lasted about a month, and Nagorno-Karabakh announced the lowest number of shelling attacks on its positions within 10 years.
