Instagram users argue about museum of Islamic culture in Nalchik
The Museum of Islamic History and Culture will be created on the basis of the Islamic University in Nalchik, the Muftiate of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has informed. Some subscribers to the local public have suggested to spend the money on roads, and help to children and elderly people. Their opponents emphasize the importance of getting to know the Islamic culture.
The idea that the Museum of Islamic History and Culture will be created in Nalchik for the funds of the 2020 Presidential Grants Fund was announced Alim Sizhazhev, the deputy chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM, or Muftiate) of the KBR, the TASS reports.
Mr Sizhazhev has noted that the main historical sources indicate that Islam came to the KBR territory in the 10th-11th centuries; and the indigenous nations managed to accumulate a large heritage – architectural monuments (mosques and worship houses), ancient relics and literature.
Some members of the chp.nalchik public on the Instagram have stated that the republic has more important matters, for which the money allocated for the museum could be spent.
