Two oil wells blown up in the Grozny District of Chechnya
Today at night in the Grozny District of Chechnya two oil wells have been blown up, the ITAR-TASS informs. "The explosion was made about 5:30 a.m. in the Grozny (Rural) District two kilometres away from dwelling settlements of Sobachevka and Pobedenskaya," a source in the Headquarters of the Temporary United Troops Grouping in North Caucasus told the "Interfax."
"One of the wells took fire, we are still trying to extinguish it, and oil is gushing from the other well," the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic has reported.
The explosions of the two oil wells in the Grozny District of Chechnya were caused by subversions, lieutenant colonel Nikolai Varavin, head of the United Press Centre of the Operations Headquarters in Chechnya told the RIA "Novosti."
