After search at PFPA activist in Baku, law enforcers took away phone and PC

Saadat Djakhangir, a member of the Presidium of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) and an employee of the "Azadlyg" newspaper, has told about an eight-hour-long interrogation after a search of her apartment. Her fellow party members fear a new provocation against their leader Ali Kerimli.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier, on April 28, Saadat Djakhangir and another PFPA activist, Irada Nariman, were detained near the home of the PFPA leader, Ali Kerimli, and then fined by USD 60 for violating the quarantine regime.

The search of Ms Djakhangir's apartment was conducted on 1 May. "They seized my PC and mobile phone; I myself was taken to the Grave Crimes Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO)," the woman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, she was interrogated as a witness in a criminal case. "They didn't even tell me within what case they interrogated me. After eight hours of questioning, they let me go, but they haven't returned my PC and phone yet," Saadat Djakhangir said.

She did not disclose the content of the interrogation, referring to a non-disclosure subscription.

The PFPA has issued a statement condemning Ms Djakhangir's attraction to investigation. The PFPA treats it as "preparations for the arrest of Ali Kerimli."
