NKR's opposition blames new power for ignoring coronavirus threats
Amid the epidemic height, the party of the new president, Araik Arutyunyan, has held an expanded sitting, by gathering more than three hundred people indoors without protective means, members of the oppositional movements of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) have stated.
The above sitting of the bloc "Free Motherland – UCA (United Civil Alliance)" was held on May 13 in the hall of the Palace of Culture of the city of Shushi and was attended by 335 delegates, the press service of the "Free Motherland" Party, led by the new NKR President, Araik Arutyunyan, has reported.
In his page on the Facebook, Arthur Osipyan, the leader of the "Revolutionary Party of Artsakh (NKR)" and the protest movement, has posted photos from the sitting in Shushi.
The oppositionist has noted that "hundreds of people gathered in the hall without masks and gloves, and without observing the social distance."
"In a country, where even at a funeral, a limited number of condoling persons can be present, where restrictions have been imposed on peaceful rallies, which is the basis of the democratic system, the authorities continue their unprompted actions, showing that they are above the law," Mr Osipyan has written.
In his turn, the press secretary of the "Free Motherland" Party has objected, stated that during the sitting, all sanitary standards were observed.
