Head of Chechen MPH explains break in broadcasting

Elkhan Suleimanov, the head of the Chechen Ministry of Public Health (MPH), has appeared on air after a two-day break and explained his absence in public by "the pandemic peak." The republic has already 1026 revealed coronavirus cases; 11 people have died, he has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Instagram users were worried that on May 19 and 20, reports on the situation with coronavirus, contrary to the custom, were read out not by Elkhan Suleimanov.

On May 21, a source reported suspected coronavirus in Ramzan Kadyrov.

"I decided to devote several days to see how patients are treated, and to make corrections if necessary," the minister said in his new video posted on the Instagram.

The users, who were worried about the two-day absence of the minister in public, have expressed joy that he was well and healthy.
