Armenia claims 39 wounded and four killed persons since conflict escalation

In the Tavush Region of Armenia, the opponent's shelling wounded 36 military servicemen, two policemen and one local resident, the authorities have reported. As of July 16, the number of killed Armenian soldiers was four; while the total number of victims reached 43.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the situation on the border of the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan and the Tavush Region of Armenia escalated on July 12. On July 15, both sides reported a decline in escalation, but on July 16, the Azerbaijani MoD announced the resumption of hostilities.

A police post came under fire, and two law enforcers were wounded. Earlier, it was announced that a civilian was wounded, the "News-Armenia" reports.

On July 12-16, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired about 150 shots in the direction of the Tavush dwelling settlements and the Armenian military positions, the news agency has reported.

Earlier, Arman Tatoyan, the Armenian Ombudsman, reported that 22 houses were damaged by shelling in the Tavush Region.
