Fourth participant of kidnapping in Ingushetia sentenced to forced labour
In Ingushetia, a court pronounced a verdict against a local resident in a case on the use of violence against policemen who tried to prevent the kidnapping of a patient from a hospital in Nazran, the Prosecutor's Office of Ingushetia reports today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 19, 2019, in Nazran, several armed people entered the territory of a hospital and took their relative – a patient of the trauma ward of the hospital – away with them. In the yard of the hospital, the armed people attacked the policemen. After the incident, four residents of Nazran and the villages of Surkhakhi and Ekazhevo were detained. In July 2020, the three attackers were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment and forced labour.
The man kidnapped from the Nazran hospital is involved in a grouping engaged in extortion of money under threats of spreading defamatory information. The man was hospitalized after a relative of one of the victims attempted on his life.
The Magas District Court found the 26-year-old resident of Nazran guilty of attacking the policemen and sentenced him to two years of forced labour with a deduction of 10% of his earnings in favour of the state, the Prosecutor's Office of Ingushetia reports today.
