Muftiate of Dagestan points to spread of public apology practice

While commenting on the practice of public apologies that spread in Dagestan following Chechnya, Abdulla Salimov, Deputy Mufti of Dagestan, said that people should avoid posting thoughtless statements on social networks, since the latter can lead to public apologies. The religious figures addressed the issue amid a resonance over the apologies voiced by teenagers to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in a recent video, two teenagers apologized to MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov for their earlier video with insults.

Residents of Dagestan have adopted the practice of public apologies for posts on social networks, notes Dagestani Deputy Mufti Abdulla Salimov.

The recent apologies were not always voiced after a real misconduct, objected user ttttm_m_55.

This year, in Dagestan, it was reported of at least four cases of public apologies to law enforcers. The law enforcement bodies suggest that the public apology practice will not take root in Dagestan, like in Chechnya, since only a sincere admission of mistakes corresponds to local traditions.

Social network users noted that Khabib Nurmagomedov could not be interested in either the misconduct of the teenagers who disrespected the image of the athlete, or their apology.

The public apologies were voiced to attract the Khabib Nurmagomedov's attention, user safromazo believes.
