Sadretdinov, indictee in Khlebnikov's case tried to commit suicide

Moscow notary Fail Sadretdinov, defendant in the murder case of Paul Khlebnikov, editor of the Russian version of the Forbes magazine, has made an attempt to hang himself in the trial prison, where he is now kept, lawyer Ruslan Koblev has told the "Interfax." Sadretdinov was saved by his cellmates.

The lawyer has told that after the attempt his client was put into the psychiatric ward of the Butyrki trial prison ("SIZO") hospital. "Sadretdinov has made an attempt of a suicide because of hopelessness and violations of his rights at the Preobrazhenskiy Court," the lawyer explained.

This February, Sadretdinov already made an attempt to commit suicide. On February 13, he lodged an petition to the head of SIZO No. 77/5 describing the torturous conditions of his custody.
