Investigation of the attack case on power units of Kabardino-Balkaria is over
It has become known to the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" from a message placed in the web-site of the General Prosecutor's Office that the investigation of the case on the attack on power structures of Kabardino-Balkaria committed on October 13 last year. Charges have been presented to 59 persons.
Presently, the victims are studying the case files, and after January 15, the advocates and defendants will take the floor.
It has been reported earlier that initially they had planned to run an episode-by-episode consideration of the criminal case because of a great number of those accused. The episode on the attack on the Special Militia Unit ("OMON") was already brought to the court in September.
However, the prosecutor's office lodged a petition to return the case to the investigation and reunification of all the episodes into one case for re-presenting the charges. Advocates protested against the unification, but the court upheld the petition.
We remind you that all in all 71 persons were arrested on the attack case on the power units of Kabardino-Balkaria, of them 12 were amnestied in September. In the course of the attack, 92 militants, 35 employees of law enforcement bodies and 14 civil persons were killed.
