Alkhanov: 380 militants have surrendered during the year
In 2006, about 380 former militants have got back to peaceful life in Chechnya, Alu Alkhanov, president of the Republic, has reported this fact to the press conference. "As of today, as a result of a huge work, some 380 persons have been amnestied and returned to peaceful life," he said.
According to Mr. Alkhanov, the amnesty has allowed them "to become normal members of the society," the RIA "Novosti" reports.
We remind you that recently Chechnya authorities are holding a massive militants' surrender campaign, estimated by many as a PR-action of these authorities.
