Jury on explosion case of Grozny-Moscow train dissolved
On Friday, the Moscow Regional Court dissolved the jury in the case on blowing up of the Grozny-Moscow train in 2005. Thus, the Court has satisfied the prosecutor's petition. In the opinion of the state prosecutor, the members of the jury were under pressure.
Jury Alexandra Salamatina stated that the dissolved jury had time to acquit the defendants in the case of the train blow-up. "Nine persons voted their innocence, and three voted them guilty," she said.
On Thursday November 30, after four hours of debates the collegium was not able to start announcing the verdict, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
The train explosion took place on July 12, 2005, in the 153rd kilometre of the railway, in the Uzunovo-Bogatischevo section. Four passenger cars were blown off the track. A total of 42 persons addressed for medical help. Five of them, including a child, were hospitalized.
