Anti-Criminal Movement published names of policemen rewarded for beating peaceful demonstrators in Armenia

"We have at our disposal multiple documents on interference of law enforcement bodies and the Security Service of Armenia into the course of political processes," Aram Karapetyan, chairman of the "New Times" Party, stated in the evening on December 1 at a regular public hearing organized by the Anti-Criminal Movement.

He announced a number of orders of the Police Head of the Republic of Armenia, according to which many policemen had received various rewards for a cruel beating of the participants of the peaceful demonstration held at night from April 12 to 13, 2004, in the Bagramyan Avenue in the centre of the capital.

A. Karapetyan supposed that law enforcement bodies are interested in holding meetings and demonstrations, since they get various rewards afterwards "for keeping the order."
