Belgian House of Representatives urged to respect Karabakh people's right to self-determination
In its resolution, the lower house of the Belgian Parliament has called on the parties to the Karabakh conflict to negotiate a peace agreement that respects the borders of Nagorno-Karabakh and the right of its people to self-determination.
The document also calls on the government of Belgium to take measures to alleviate the problems of the population affected by the war, to identify and convict those responsible for war crimes, and to comply with the ceasefire regime.
Let us remind you that on November 25, the French Senate adopted a resolution on the need to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh. After that, the Azerbaijani Parliament called to exclude France from the OSCE (Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe). On November 26, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) handed the French Ambassador a note of protest in connection with the resolution. France still does not recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as a republic, the French MFA has assured. The Azerbaijani MFA has reacted to the adopted resolution with harsh condemnation, while the Armenian MFA welcomed the decision of the lower house of the French Parliament.
