Fifteen activists detained at office of "Georgian Dream" Party

The detention of activists outside the office of the Georgian ruling party began after Giya Volsky, a member of the "Georgian Dream" Party, made an obscene gesture towards the protesters.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 20, the Georgian opposition began protest actions in all regions of the country demanding early parliamentary elections and release of political prisoners.

A protest action was held near the central office of the ruling "Georgian Dream" Party, where a sitting of the party's political council was held. Up to 15 activists have been detained, including Nika Parulava, a member of the "Change" Movement, the "Rustavi-2" TV Channel has reported.

Detentions began after the above Giya Volsky arrived at the sitting and showed an insulting gesture towards the protesters who chanted "Slave!" After that, protesters began breaking through to the building.

Protesters were detained in the administrative order. Some were accused of petty hooliganism, others – of disobeying policemen's lawful demands, the head of the Mtatsminda-Krtsanisi police has stated.
